Formed in June of 2007, Human Anyway is a group of guys that have joined together, through God’s design, to make music that is fun, entertaining, and promotes a contemplative attitude.

Guitarist, Jeremy Anglen; bassist, Chris Anglen; guitarist, Jonathan Hall (all formerly of the band called Seventh Reason); and drummer, Jay Dela Cruz, posted a need for a lead singer on MySpace. Zac Rantz answered that call and the band was born. Jonathan and Jay parted ways with the band in August of that same year, leaving the guys searching for a new drummer. Less than a month later, Matt Petry was asked to lend his percussion expertise to the ensemble, to which he eagerly accepted, replacing Jay on drums.

Over the course of that next year, Human Anyway played numerous shows including Southwest Baptist University’s Relay for Life, Nixa’s Fourth of July Celebration, The Front Porch Café in Springfield, Christian County’s Relay for Life, and even led worship at an AWANA Conference.

The guys soon realized they were missing something…a second guitar player. For months the guys prayed and searched for that talented individual who had the same vision and passion for music as they did. God definitely has a funny way of answering prayers as a random grease fire at Chris and Jeremy’s apartment complex led the band to its fifth member and guitar player, John Van Gorden.

With the addition of John, Human Anyway went on to perform at a number of events and entered the studio to lay down their first CD.

For those of you who are curious about the name, we can say this:  We are God's Children. None of us deserve God's grace, but by His mercy and unconditional love we are forgiven (Romans 3:23-25). Even still, we are human and will continue to need God's grace and mercy throughout life's trials. After all, we are just HUMAN ANYWAY…
