You will find them in every school building. They are the kids that are happy to be in a place that gives them shelter and a warm meal. Yet, they are the same kids that are distracted by the lack of food at home, not to mention other things their home may be lacking. Thankfully there are organizations that are meeting these needs with programs that provide a backpack of food and hygiene items as needed for children in all grades.
We are partnering with CARE TO LEARN, Heart2Heart, GIFT OF HOPE, INC , and the Bright Futures Snack Pack Program in Joplin to provide individually packaged food and hygiene items for the backpack programs of area schools. You can help by picking up items from the shopping list on your next trip to the grocery store or wholesale warehouse. Drop the items off at one of our broadcasts or at the station and receive a limited edition "See a need. Meet a need." Drawstring Backpack!
